Sheryl Hill is a Minnesota mother whose son died during a student ambassador trip to Japan nine years ago. Sheryl has made it her mission for “Study Abroad Safety” and started Depart Smart, established in 2010, to advance safe global youth travel. She was recently featured on Kare11, where she shared her 50 point travel safety checklist, as well as tips to register for your trip and about an online study abroad education school she will be launching soon.
