CONNECT Story # 33

Deirdre Van Nest, Owner of Accelerated Performance, teaches financial advisors and coaches how to create and deliver crazy good presentations that bring in business. Below, she shares how she found her own version of Cheers after joining OffiCenters.

OffiCenters has been the answer to my prayers! I’m an extrovert. When I started my coaching practice in 2008, I realized working from home was only going to last so long. After a few years I’d had enough and knew I had to get out of the house! I remember praying, “Lord let me find a community of like-minded business people I can share a CoWorking space with. Let me find a place where I feel like I belong, where everybody knows my name-my own version of Cheers.”

Soon after I found OffiCenters. I became a virtual member 3 years ago and then in April of this year, I teamed up with three other virtual members and we now rent 2 full-time office spaces together! This is literally the dream I had for myself when I first started my business. It’s so great to have a group of people who care about whether or not I come into work, a group who can hold me accountable for the goals I set, who can cheer me on when I’m feeling down and celebrate with me when I have wins.

Being an OffiCenters member has impacted my business on many levels-from satisfying my need for connection to gaining new business from other members to increasing my productivity-let’s face it, even the most disciplined among us have trouble not throwing in that load of laundry or unloading the dishwasher when working from home!
