1) What would you like people to know about you and your business? I’m passionate about it! First and foremost, this is a very personal matter to me. I followed my intuition for the past three years that it is truly my purpose in life to help others lead a healthier life. I am excited to begin this journey and look forward to helping each client that I will be working with.
2) Where did you get the idea for your business? Over five years ago my husband and I decided to make a lifestyle change by giving up the socially unacceptable, time consuming, expensive, unhealthy, and inconvenient habit of smoking. We both chose a new type of therapeutic (non-thermal and non-invasive) low level laser treatment that helped us manage the physical withdrawals of quitting. I however, found the psychological side of smoking was not addressed and I struggled with that initially. Fortunately I persevered and eventually all my triggers and cravings faded away.
3) What makes your business unique? Although we were successful in quitting, I’ve always felt there had to be ANEW WAY that could help even the longest-term smoker quit successfully. I truly wanted to implement a system that dealt with all three of the components necessary to help a client quit smoking: 1) The Physical Phase, 2) The Psychological Phase, and 3) A Superior Support Program. Combining all three of these elements provide the smoker with all the tools necessary to become a non-smoker when they are ready. ANEW WAY Therapy’s process includes a minimum of 2-3 laser sessions as needed, with a cognitive behavioral coaching session that includes a personal CD or MP3 recorded at the client’s session to use at home or anytime along with our six weeks of superior support. The entire initial laser and Cognitive Behavioral Coaching session is deeply relaxing…so much so, that we also offer Stress Reduction Sessions for those looking for an alternative way to combat anxiety and stress. Also, if a client happens to relapse at some point in the future, we provide an optional “Quitters Club” program to all our members which entitles them to return to us for a fraction of the initial cost. 4) What is your ‘elevator speech”? Simply put…We help people quit smoking! We are an “alternative tobacco cessation program” utilizing a comprehensive Three Phase approach which provides proven results. First we implement the newest Cold Laser technology to help manage the physical phase of quitting. Second we incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Coaching to address the psychological triggers associated with smoking, and third; we provide an exceptional Support Program for six weeks that gives a client all the tools and support necessary to leave their nicotine addiction behind.
5) What are the keys to your success? The majority of my clients have succeeded to quit smoking, and that success is due to the Three Phase Program that we have implemented.
6) What is the one piece of advice you’d like to give to others about running a business? I believe that managing expenses and hard costs are critical. I recommend starting small and ending big! I am delighted that I discovered OffiCenters, as they provided everything I needed yet I am able to manage my expenses and hard costs.
7) How long have you been at OffiCenters? Which location? I recently opened on August 15th at the professional, impressive, super sleek, newly constructed 3rd floor in the International Plaza building!! I am very happy to be at ‘The Plaza’!
8) How has your relationship with OffiCenters changed your business? First and foremost—it offers the most powerful first impression for a client. I found the location ideal…a modern design, a professional staff, and all the additional services a business like mine requires. 9) If you could work from anywhere under the sun, where would you choose? There is no other location I could imagine working in, other than an OffiCenter location!

13) Who has been an inspiration in your life? So many wonderful friends and family, I’m very thankful and blessed for them all!
14) When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you use it? I’m what you would call a ‘girl-on-the-go’, and enjoy working on visions and plans for the future of my business, I also like to gardening, and spend time with those closest to me.
15) If you had a long weekend with unlimited funds, where would you go? Perhaps somewhere in the grand old south—such as Georgia; I’ve heard a lot about the city of Savannah so that might be a must-do!
16) If you could be any fictional character, whom would you choose and why? Probably Tweety Bird…because I’m always on the go!
17) What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? My husband and I always love a great steak…perfectly prepared…and Manny’s or Kincaid’s always delivers!
18) What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life? I listen to all kinds of music, although I’m a 1970-80’s rock and roll girl by nature and love to dance…but if Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin are playing…it’s a whole different atmosphere.
19) If you could paint a picture what would you paint and why? Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with the talent of a ‘professional portraiture’ so for some reason a rainbow comes to mind – and needs no further explanation.
