Every business has a story, tell us yours.
I am a forensic accountant that specializes in civil litigation matters with a specific focus on divorce litigation. I work with individuals, attorneys and judges in helping to resolve, or make simpler, the valuation and division of (often) complex financial assets employees and/or business owners own. While I do end up testifying from time to time as an expert witness, most of my work involves mediating parties’ disputes in the divorce process outside of court.
You were chosen as this month’s Milestone Client. Tell us about your Milestone achievements.
A couple years ago myself and a small handful of attorney and judge colleagues were given an award of recognition by the Minnesota Judicial Council for designing and piloting the ICMC/ENE ADR process for divorce and family law litigation matters. This has been a highly successful alternative dispute resolution process to help divorcing parties resolve their disputes outside of Court.
No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . .
It’s 10% accounting, but 90% psychology. I’m very good with numbers, but better in understanding people and how they value themselves.
We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom.
You are your business. Be the best at what you do or make yourself better in any and every way you can, and you and your business will thrive.

You are running a for-profit business. Treat it as such and charge what you are worth.
Describe your perfect day off.
If my kids aren’t around to goof off with, a perfect day would be catching up on admin “stuff” around the office, lunch with a colleague and catching up on the latest local case law.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I grew up in Boston and was a double major in Russian language in college.
Together we are stronger. Tell us something you like about being our client.
I joined OffiCenters in June 2014. I absolutely love it. The facilities are very professional; details are not missed from the conference room setups to coffee always being in supply. Not only are the staff incredibly professional and dedicated to running a tight ship, they are all just really good people.
If you could work anywhere under the sun, where would you choose?
Under the sun. But for now, I really like the OffiCenter location I’m at.
How can people CONNECT with you?
If you are going through or contemplating a divorce, I’m at the International Plaza location, but you can email me at dax@daxstoner.com or call me at 651-269-1244.
