CONNECT Story #65
Laura Delavie, of ALCEMIS, can help you and your teams generate and implement meaningful innovative solutions for sustainable growth. Below, Laura shares how she has utilized the networking events at OffiCenters to make some great connections and a reconnection.
I was at the France Uncorked in March when Joey Pepka of Peptronics walked in. I smiled at Joey. It took him a bit to shake the cobwebs from his mind before greeting me with a hug. Joey and I knew each other long ago when we were kids and it’s been at least eight years since we’d seen each other. We met again shortly after Uncorked to connect and catch up. Joey had some great ideas about networking at the OffiCenters locations. He said he has met amazing people over his nine years with OffiCenters. Finding myself with some open time in April, I ventured to the pizza networking on Lori’s birthday. Joey was there too and introduced me to Sean Wait of Southwestern Consulting. Sean is a sales and leadership coach, so we share some synergies in the leadership space. Sean and I have had engaging conversations about personal leadership – core for effective professional leadership. Sean is a great resource to improve my sales skills as I continue to develop my network and build relationships with prospects and clients. Both Joey and Sean shared valuable feedback about my introduction speech, which I’ve since tweaked. I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with Tyler Jacobsen of Northwestern Mutual after we met at the April Taste of Woodbury. Tyler had an interesting idea for companies needing strategic change consulting as new financial services laws go into effect. In the short four months as an OffiCenters member, I’ve made enriching connections and a wonderful reconnection. CONNECT with me at 952-232-5264 or Laura.Delavie@ALCEMIS.com.
