August – Milestone

Mark Horton, of Horton Law Office and VirtualOffiCenters client at France since 2008, is our Milestone Client of the Month. Mark started his career as an attorney 12 years ago, and for the last five years has had his own practice. Horton Law Office focuses on criminal defense, civil commitments and guardianship/conservatorship cases.  Keep reading on to learn more about Mark and what he does.

Every business has a story, tell us yours.  I’ve been practicing law for twelve years. Out of law school, I worked as a civil litigator and prosecutor for a mid size firm in Bloomington.  After that, I took a job with the City of Bloomington as a full time prosecutor. Seven years into my legal career and after handling countless files I needed a change. I felt that opening my own law office would allow me the opportunity to positively impact my clients’ lives.   

You were chosen as this month’s Milestone Client. Tell us about your Milestone achievements. Celebrating my fifth year of the Horton Law Offices LLC is a huge milestone especially in a competitive legal market. I still remember signing up my first client. 

No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . .  I pride myself on customer service. I really stress to my clients that they hired me and my experiences and therefore I’m available to handle any questions or concerns that might come up during their case. 

We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom. Be yourself and know what works for you and what does not. 

Share the best advice you ever received. Be nice to everyone because you never know when you could use their help in the future.

Describe your perfect day off. Any day I get Starbucks coffee in the morning is a good day and any day in the month of May because the weather is typically gorgeous.   

What might someone be surprised to know about you? I’m a huge sports fan in the fall/winter so I watch a lot of TV, but a bookworm in the spring and summer. 

Together we are stronger. Tell us something you like about being our client. The flexibility of being a virtual client and the staff at Bloomington are excellent. 

If you could work anywhere under the sun, where would you choose? In the winter I would pick Sanibel Island, Florida and in the summer I would pick Walker, Minnesota.
