Every business has a story, tell us yours. I didn’t go to law school until I was 31, and got out two and a half years later. I knew I didn’t want to work at a big firm with awful hours, and I knew I didn’t want to be making money for anyone but me. I also actually like people, so opening my own firm was a no brainer. I like to think of myself as a Main Street lawyer in the big city.

You were chosen as this month’s Milestone Client. Tell us about your milestone achievement. I bought a desk treadmill for my office. That was kind of a milestone as I decided I didn’t want to die of heart disease. Otherwise, professionally speaking I don’t know that I’ve hit my mark yet. The biggest milestone was opening my firm and realizing that I am the one who has to help my clients. Nobody else was going to do it for me.

No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . . My business is awesome. I’m possibly the greatest lawyer ever.

We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom. Don’t take crappy clients. No amount of money is worth it.

Share the best advice you ever received. Don’t give unsolicited advice.

Describe your perfect day off. Since I have a one year old, it would likely involve copious amounts of sleep. Some good sushi with my awesome wife would be part of a perfect day off.

What might someone be surprised to know about you? I once jumped off a bridge with an umbrella, I tried out for the Minnesota Twins, I have a pilot’s license, and I was Goldy Gopher. ONE of the previous statements is false.

Together we are stronger. Tell us something you like about being our client. I love all the ladies that work at OffiCenters. I’m not being sexist, I just don’t think we’ve had a guy since I started here anyway. I love the banter and the willingness of everyone to take bad checks.

If you could work anywhere under the sun, where would you choose? Probably in the office next door to me. The guy in Suite 345 laughs all day long (which I hear through our paper thin walls). Then he has his employees do all the work while he rakes in the great cases and watches the Daily Show on his laptop. It’s the best office ever!

How can people CONNECT with you? Phone (612-349-2722), email me at chad@reichwaldlaw.com or visit my website etc. But I really like in person contact, it’s harder for people to ignore you. I’m also a hugger, and getting a hug from a text just doesn’t cut it.
