Every business has a story, tell us yours.
It has always been my goal to assist small and mid-sized businesses to assist them in surviving, growing and prospering. While serving as a financial officer for closely held businesses I noticed many vendors and customers struggling with business challenges and offered assistance. Meeting with many business owners and managers I heard a common theme. The common theme was in a few key areas that were seriously challenging their organizations; it was then I knew there were a number of solutions that I could offer.
You were chosen as this month’s Innovator Client. What does being an Innovator mean to you?
To move beyond operational excellence and into the next realm of creativity and vision.
No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . .
Every established company started with a team that built its success. I know that every company can recreate or build on its success; I assist ownership and the team to make sure of profitable continuation.
We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom.
Learn from others and take it heart: Example – Kenny Rogers: The Gambler – “…You gotta know when to fold them, Know when to run, Never count your money while you are sitting at the table, there will be time enough for counting when the dealing is done…” If you have not lived these words; you have not lived.
Share the best advice you ever received.
Never be afraid to fail; as Edison states: “ I haven’t failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Describe your perfect day off.
Reading a great book on my deck. Riding my bike on the trails.
