PDML PicThe Law Offices of Peterson, Daly, Maruish & Lametti make their home at OffiCenters at International Plaza and are our Success clients this month! One key to their success is that the partners excel in working together as one unit in order to provide their clients with the most complete, thorough, and effective representation possible. Learn more about their firm at www.pdmllaw.com and read their answers to our questionnaire!

1)    What would you like people to know about you and your business? We pride ourselves in being new and setting new benchmarks for client service and relationships. The four of us are very personable attorneys who bring a new and unique blend of diligence, concern, and effective personalized representation to all of our clients.

2)    Where did you get the idea for your business? In law school, three of our partners took a Small Firm Practice Course, where we wrote our business plan for starting our law practice after law school. When we graduated we all decided that the opportunity to work for ourselves and create a sustainable mechanism for producing monthly income, combined with the large amount of personal autonomy in our work lives was too good to pass up.

3)    What makes your business unique? Definitely the four partners in our firm. We are an eccentric group of professional lawyers that have very unique and effective client relationships. A lawyer is an advocate. We recognize that the keys to success and building strong reputations in the community are based on these relationships. Everyone wants results, but first and foremost clients want to see their money put to work and their case put forward not with just our theory, but their own as well.

4)    What is your ‘elevator speech’? We don’t have an elevator speech; people call us for help with very specific issues that are personal to them. We just listen and then let them know how we can help them.

5)    What are the keys to your success? The biggest key to our success is effective representation. Happy clients refer more clients. Our client pool grows exponentially each month. As a lawyer the most important thing aside from getting the business, is handling it well.

6)    What is the one piece of advice you’d like to give to others about running a business? Success in business doesn’t happen without hard work and being aware of the operation’s strengths and weakness. Don’t be lazy or too stubborn to make changes when the business needs revitalization.

7)    How long have you been at OffiCenters? Which location? We have been at OffiCenters at International Plaza in Bloomington since January of 2013.

8)    How has your relationship with OffiCenters changed your business? It has really helped launch us in the community. As a small law firm with a low start-up budget and limited initial cash flow, using an office share immediately provided our business with office amenities that would otherwise take us years to purchase for our clients. From the copy centers to the front desk staff, it has really helped our firm image having these amenities in place.

9)    If you could work from anywhere under the sun, where would you choose? We like where we work. When selecting an office, you haven’t done your job if you haven’t selected the place where you want to work.

10)  Tweet, Blog, LinkedIn, Facebook? You can follow The Law Offices of Peterson, Daly, Maruish & Lametti, PLLP on Facebook or LinkedIn. Our blog is rolling out on our website www.pdmllaw.com in early 2014.

11)  What piece of technology can you not live without? Fujitsu Scansnap. It allows us to have a paperless office (most of the time).

12)  What is one of your favorite quotes? If the grass looks greener on the other side, then it’s time to water your own grass.

13)  Who has been an inspiration in your life? We all inspire each other to be the best lawyers we can be. Each of us would probably say our family and friends keep us going.

14)  When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you use it? We usually sleep because we are exhausted, watch TV shows or sports, or hang out with our kids, friends, and family.

15)  If you had a long weekend with unlimited funds, where would you go? To Vegas and straight to the craps table.

16)  If you could be any fictional character, whom would you choose and why? The Lincoln Lawyer (John), Alan Shore (Demetri).

17)  What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Ichiban Steakhouse (John and Abby), the recently closed King and I Thai (Demetri), Broders Pasta Bar (Eric).

18)  If you could paint a picture what would you paint and why? For brevity’s sake, you can think of your own reasons as to why we would paint these. Some sort of Salvador Dali knockoff with the scales of justice melting off a waterfall (John). A version of the Nightwatch where the guards are clothed in PDML tabards (Demetri).

19)  What is the best way for people to find out more about you and your business? If you have any small business, contracts, criminal, family, estate planning, or real estate law questions please free to stop by our office on the third floor of the International Plaza building, or call our office at (952) 851-7853.
