Warm Hands, Warm Our Hearts!
Once again, this holiday season OffiCenters will partner with Hats & Mittens a local, all volunteer based non-profit, that collects and distributes new and gently used hats, mittens and scarves to the Twin Cities seven-county metro area schools, shelters, social service and youth organizations with the goal of keeping children and families warm during the cold Minnesota winters. They anticipate order requests of over 25,000 sets for the 2020-21 winter season. We know that our OneCommunity can help!
Our collection drive will start on Monday, November 9 and run until Friday, December 18. The greatest need is waterproof mittens for school aged children, scarves/neck warmers and items for teens. Please, help us warm the hands (and heads) of Minnesota children and young adults. We guarantee you’ll feel the warmth within from serving the less fortunate in our communities.
About Hats & Mittens
Hats & Mittens was organized by Rebecca Jorgenson Sundquist in 1996 as a 501c3 for the purpose of raising money and visibility for various children’s charity in the community. They raise money, collect hundreds of hats and mittens for homeless children, and increase awareness of smaller and emerging non-profits that also serve children. Hats & Mittens is a team of local professionals, all volunteers, who work together for the purpose of celebrating the season and helping children in need.
Hats & Mittens is a unique because it has a dual purpose: not only do they gather and raise thousands of dollars to purchase hats and mittens for local children, they also award monetary contributions to smaller under the radar metro children’s organizations.
Their Vision:
A warmer and more welcoming world for children
Their Mission:
To warm the bodies and hearts of kids everywhere. Starting by providing free hats and mittens to children in need during the cold winter months.
