Marjorie Austin will share her life experiences, the good, bad, ugly.  Marjorie brings a lifetime of values believing that, while we are all different, we are all the same.

Marjorie is a music and English major who raised two beautiful daughters, Meg and Jenny, worked in church music and church leadership, obtained a financial paraplanner designation from the College of Financial Planning and was employed in the financial planning industry for several years.

After her children were out of the nest, Marjorie thought long and hard.  She said to herself, “If I ‘had it to do over again’, I would have gone to law school.”  So, Marjorie took the risk.  She started law school at age 55.

Today, Marjorie is enjoying the heck out of her life practicing law with vigor, enjoying her passion in music and the great passionate opportunity to help us all say ‘yes’ to 2020.

Learning Objectives:
1.  Say ‘yes’ to Risk
2.  Reach for Excellence
3.  Hang in there!  Persevere

She has a Financial Paraplanner designation from the College of Financial Planning and began law school at age 55, long past everyone’s ‘normal’.  Marjorie graduated from William Mitchell College of Law where she was a part of Law Review.  Since graduation, Marjorie has practiced law in the area of Estate Planning.  She has served on the Hennepin County Ethics Committee and is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota Bar Association.

In her spare time, Marjorie enjoys singing and playing piano, reading, needlework, enjoying friends, and hanging out in the North Woods of Minnesota at her lake home.

Marjorie’s key to success is persistence, attention to detail, focus – and enjoying the fellowship of people just like you!
