We opened the door at our first location, Park OffiCenter, on June 1, 1981. We started with half of the floor and 37 full-time offices. While we’re still in the same space, over the last 44 years we have expanded four times and now occupy the entire seventh floor. We’re so excited to celebrate this milestone with a remodel at Park, slated to start later this month. More details to come!
The next couple of years saw the addition of three more workspaces. Some that have even moved, multiple times! International Plaza opened in 2013, when we took over from an existing operator and relocated to the third floor. Woodbury and Edina opened in the last 10 years, giving us six WORK AWESOME locations and a community of over 1,700 members. This gives OffiCenters the title of largest member based CoWorking Space in the Twin Cities.
Lori Spiess, Owner of OffiCenters, has been an active part of the Global Workspace Association, and was president in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. This gave her a global view of our industry and provided an opportunity for OffiCenters to be a trailblazer in the evolution of shared workspaces and building a collaborative, CoWorking community. We’re proud of our locally owned and operated business, and can’t wait to see what the next 44 years will bring!
