What would you like people to know about you and your business? After working in the reinsurance business for 40 years, I have been retired for 12 years.

Where did you get the idea for your business? My father was in insurance so gravitating to an area of insurance was natural. Since retiring, my current business is to have a full & productive life during retirement & hopefully contribute something back to society.

What makes your business unique? With the aging of America, retirement is hardly unique.

What is your ‘elevator speech’? Before you retire, be planful of what you want to do, put it in writing & then do it.

What are the keys to your success? Stay active. Have an inquisitive mind. Be engaged with others. Be a glass half full.

What is the one piece of advice you’d like to give to others about running a business? Be happy with hitting singles.

How long have you been at OffiCenters? Which location? 12 years at Union Plaza OffiCenter.

How has your relationship with OffiCenters changed your business? This is a perfect work environment for a retired guy.

If you could work from anywhere under the sun, where would you choose? Assuming what I currently do is called working; I’m happy where I am.

Tweet, Blog, LinkedIn, Facebook? NO, NO, YES, NO.

What piece of technology can you not live without? It’s a tie: my PC & my Smart Phone.

What is one of your favorite quotes? In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted. (Bertrand Russell)

Who has been an inspiration in your life? JFK.

When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you use it? Either taking a nap or reading the NY Times.

If you had a long weekend with unlimited funds, where would you go? I cannot even think of unlimited funds, but my weekend trips would be visiting the great cities of the world.

If you could be any fictional character, whom would you choose and why? Atticus Finch (“To Kill a Mockingbird”) – like me, he is southern; he has a quiet grace & wisdom to which I can only aspire.

What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Restaurant Alma.

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life? Anything/Everything by Rogers & Hart.

If you could paint a picture, what would you paint and why? It would be an abstract expressionist piece. Keeps a person guessing as to its meaning.
