USPS Mail Service Update!
The U.S. Postal Service regulates how mail can be received and handled and also dictates required procedures for Commercial Mail Receiving Agents (CMRAs) like OffiCenters, to follow. Their 1583 form is to authorize us to receive mail on your behalf. It’s also how they ensure that a responsible party is linked to the mailbox for security and fraud prevention purposes. USPS recently changed the 1583 form and created an online database that all CMRA’s are required to update. This is why an OffiCenter team member has likely asked you to complete this form. The Minnesota compliance deadline is January 1, 2025. If you receive mail at one of our OffiCenters locations and have not yet completed an updated 1583 form or provided the required documents for verification, please connect with us to get this form completed and avoid any interruption in your mail service.
You can get a copy of the 1583 form and instructions on how to complete it HERE. This form is required to be notarized, which can be done in our workspaces. If you’d like to learn more about their policy change, visit: https://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2023/pb22624/html/updt_002.htm
