A Day ON, Not OFF
This year, for the first time, OffiCenters will be closed on January 17th, the 27th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Observed each year on the third Monday in January, MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. We are encouraging our staff, and our Work Awesome Members, to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King by volunteering to improve their communities. MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.” There are many websites that can help you find volunteer opportunities is your area. Remember: No act of service is too small. Dr. King understood this and inspires us daily to start where we are. He understood the power of greatness lives within each of us: “Everybody can be great,” he said, “Because anybody can serve.”
