September Milestone
Tom Browne has been a client at Park OffiCenter, barring a three year hiatus, since 1986. Over the past 26 years, Tom has become a part of the OffiCenter family and we are excited to feature him as our Milestone Client for September. Currently, he is the Vice President of Sales for People’s Capital Leasing Corporation. The staff at Park OffiCenter loves Tom’s positive energy and outlook. Now, he shares that energy with all of us in his answers to the OffiCenter questions!
1) Who are you and what do you do? Tom Browne. I am V.P. of Sales for People’s Capital & Leasing Corporation. We finance and lease construction, transportation, manufacturing, and printing equipment.
2) Which OffiCenters location does your business call ‘home-base’? Park OffiCenter.
3) How long have you been an OffiCenters client? Since 1986 (minus three years).
4) What is your ‘elevator speech’? I do things right the first time, as I don’t have the time to do it again.
5) Where did you get the idea for your business? My Grandfather, I always wanted to be a Banker or in the Finance field.
6) What makes your business unique? Flexible financing. We offer different finance plans than a traditional bank. Our plans are relationship driven.
7) What are the keys to your success? Communication ~ Never give up ~ See the whole picture ~ Listen to my customers’ needs and offer solutions.
8) How has officing with OffiCenters changed your business? It has allowed me to be self-driven and motivated me to be successful with a bank in New England. It was all about being independent and making it on your own. OffiCenters and their team made that happen.
9) What would you like people to know about you? I am married to Sheila. We have four children between the ages of 20 – 28; we have one left in college. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life, grew up in Orono. I enjoy traveling, golf and spending time at our cabin.
10) Do you use social media to attract clients? If so, which services do you use? I do not use social media.
11) What is one of your favorite quotes? “I have the money.”
12) Who has been an inspiration in your life, and how? My Grandfather and Grandmother, and my Mom and Dad. All four of them were successful and each had seven children who also all grew up successful. Also, my wife Sheila as she is raising our children.
13) When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you use it? Reading with a glass of wine. Doesn’t happen very often.
14) If you could be any fictional character, whom would you choose and why? Superman – why not, he had it all.
15) If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? An eagle – free, strong and can fly.
16) What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Murry’s Restaurant
17) What is your favorite place to visit in Minnesota? My cabin or Duluth.
18) What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life? “Take It Easy”, “My Girl”, “Born To Run”
19) If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve ever seen before, what would you paint and why? Sitting at the top of a ski mountain in Breckenridge. Peaceful yet dangerous. The beauty of the blue bird sky and the color of the mountains.
20) What is your favorite part of being with OffiCenters? The professional service. They make you feel wanted. Great TEAM!
