KP Companies started in 2001 from an idea to a standard of excellence in the employment services and executive search industries. We were created to provide more personalized executive search services to corporate clients in and around the Twin Cities. Word spread, and within a year after starting, business was booming!

You were chosen as this month’s Milestone Member. Tell us about your Milestone achievements.
Zero. Just kidding. Hiring Mandy Lee! Making excellent hires not just externally but internally.

No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . .
We have a high functioning team committed to straight excellence. Enough said.

We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom.
When you make a mistake, dust yourself off and try again. You can always recover. Forgive yourself and learn from them; move on.

What “teacher” has made the most impact on your life and why?
Miss Oruku, my college professor. Because she didn’t allow any excuses. Not one. She had high expectations and held you to a high standard and taught me to rise to any occasion.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I come from a funeral home family- my grandmother owned funeral homes, and I’m a part owner of a funeral home. My family started the funeral home in York, South Carolina and on 8/4 it will be on the historic landmark register!

If you could have only one super power, what would it be and why?
Telekinesis- or being invisible.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
I recently read something by local author Janna Krawczyk. I love her voice, and I could actually visualize myself in the settings of her novel, since they’re all places around town that I’m familiar with.
