I am a Graphic Designer and I specialize in Sports Brand. As of right now, I have been working in sports brands for over 17 years. I have clients in the United States but a majority of my work is done in Europe.
You were chosen as this month’s Success Client. Tell us about your most recent Success.
My most recent success I guess would have to be working on Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco. During that time, I worked directly with the San Francisco Host Committee and create over 150+ designs ranging from print, event, merchandise, web, on-air, etc.
No one likes to brag about their business, but if you HAD TO . . .
Over the past 17 years I have worked on 21 major European Club Soccer Finals across Europe (UEFA), 2 Fifa World Cups, the 2013 America’s Cup Final in San Francisco. Also, I am responsible for the creation and maintaining the brand of the Champions Hockey League (European NHL). Oh, and I have an Emmy.
We learn from our mistakes, especially in business. Give us some words of wisdom.
A couple words of wisdom I have picked up are… Always start with the end in mind. Under promise and over deliver and most importantly don’t be scared to say “No”.
Share the best advice you ever received.
In a commercial world creativity is nothing more than problem solving. Also, never stop learning.
Describe your perfect day off.
Over the winter I made a Tear Drop Camper in my garage so I would say going camping would be a perfect day off.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Switzerland for 12 years. Also, I have a twin brother that doesn’t look anything like me.
Together we are stronger. Tell us something you like about being our client.
What I like about being a client is the ease of everything. In my business I try to keep admin to a minimum the best I can so I can focus more on work. By being here I don’t need to invest admin time into the office space, the internet, the phone, the mail, the electrical, the heating/cooling, parking, etc. It is just one easy monthly payment and it is all sorted. I also like to think about it as an investment because admin time is not billable time so the less time spent on it the more time can be invested into billable time.
If you could work anywhere under the sun, where would you choose?
I think a lot of people would say they would like a big corner office overlooking something amazing. To be honest when Lisa showed me the office in Bloomington I thought that it was perfect. I really like the fact that it doesn’t have windows because the sunlight messes with my computer screens. I think this is the first office I could lay out the way I wanted it because I didn’t have to worry about unwanted light. Also, it is really close to my house.
